Forcing Home Charity Ultimate Tournament - Regina, Sk, Canada

Hey all

Just trying to raise some more awareness for our tourney

A new annual and national day in sport was created in the Ultimate
Frisbee "circles" in conjunction with Canada's National Housing Day on
November 22nd. Tournaments of various formats called "Forcing Home"
Ultimate tournaments were held in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Montreal.
Saskatchewan is also participating in this event, but due to a lack of
indoor facility space, the event was delayed and is now being held on
Friday December 5.

Forcing home is a strategy term used in Ultimate, one of the fastest
growing sports in Canada with over 900 people playing in over 70 teams
in the Regina and Saskatoon leagues, 12,000 playing in Canada and
thousands more playing worldwide.

With a commitment among the players participating to urban renewal,
this indoor tournament held at the City of Regina's Fieldhouse
complex, will bring together the Ultimate leaders in the province with
the younger players, forming what is typically known as a "Hat
Tournament". The teams are chose randomly, but are done so in a way to
ensure balanced teams, thus providing a fun yet competitive game
atmosphere with evenly matched teams.

All proceeds raised will be donated to North Central Family Centre, a
frontline organization in Regina helping underprivileged families, and
to the Habitat for Humanity Regina chapter.
