Yes, Russ, that is kinda lame. But, so is the name "Ultimate"
("Flatball" is the best I've heard, but I'm not real enthusiastic
about that either).

Refs ARE NOT needed, refs would detract. The "empowered observer" with
a second observer and two line-observers in big time games when the
personnel are available, is a damn good system and the UPA ought to
agressively promote that system and work up a system to identify,
develop, qualify, and credential the folks who want to do that.
