Pittsburgh PA Overnight Indoor Hat, 03-04 January: Updates/FAQ's

Below are some updates and answers to FAQ's from Pittsburgh, PA's
First Night of Flight overnight indoor hat tournament as promised.

Again, the tournament will begin at 10 p.m. the night of SATURDAY,
JANUARY 3, 2003, and will end SUNDAY MORNING, JANUARY 4, 2003 at 7
a.m.

In the meantime, please continue to spread the word by sending this
out to your ultimate-playing friends, community and club d-lists and
b-boards, and local contacts!

Thanks so much to those people who are sending word around and signing
up!  You're the folks that are making this tourney happen.  So far we
have representation from recreational, juniors, collegiate, and club
players from 15+ ultimate communities in 7 different states!  That's
completely awesome, keep it up -- only one month to go before the
tournament!

UPDATES:

- The tournament is already starting to fill up, so get those
registrations in soon!

- Preregistration will end two days earlier -- on NEW YEAR'S DAY,
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 1, 2004!!  So when the ball drops, you're out $5
more if you want to play.  So sign up!  Here's the link:

- Reminder:  Once registration is full, preregistration will close
IMMEDIATELY and the tournament will be walk-on registration on a
first-come first-serve basis AS SPACE PERMITS.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

(1)  CAN I SIGN UP TO PLAY WITH MY FRIEND(S)?  - Not really, this is a
hat tourney with no baggage (so you have a one-in-something chance of
being drawn onto the same team) but since the tourney will be on the
same night, in the same place, nothing's stopping you from getting
them together for a road trip -- the trip back is always more fun when
everyone can share different stories on the way home anyway...

(2)  CAN I PREPAY IN SOME WAY OTHER THAN CREDIT CARD?  -
Preregistration can only be done by credit card or check card (through
Verisign on the website) -- this is the wave of the future for
Ultimate events.  Any checking account will issue you a check card for
these types of purchases.

(3)  WHAT IS THE GENDER RATIO?  - It will be determined through
registration.

(4)  WHO HAS SIGNED UP / WHO IS ON TEAMS?  - This will be posted only
if the tournament fills in preregistration.  Otherwise we'll have to
stay flexible in order to accommodate new registrants.

(5)  WHERE IS IT AGAIN?  Golf Dome at Neville Island Sports complex,
just off I-79, a few miles North of Pittsburgh, PA.  Follow this link:

(6)  WHEN SHOULD I GET THERE?  Check-in will begin NO LATER than 10
p.m., and after check-in (or 10:30, whichever is later) then walk-ins
will be admitted.  At that time, those who have registered who have
not signed up will forfeit their spots if necessary to accommodate for
walk-ins.  More details to follow with rules etc.

(7)  WHAT ARE THE INDOOR-FIELD SPECIFIC RULES AND TOURNEY FORMAT
RULES?  These are still being formulated, but will be a combination of
Pittsburgh Winter League rules and BULA Beach Rules.  Formats and
rules will be posted around Christmastime to the participants who have
signed up by that time.
