Every so often you come upon a tournament that has something special to it and, thus, it becomes memorable. Whether it is fried chicken in a small town, 60 acres of pure Ultimate pleasure or completely taking over a small Italian town, great Ultimate tournaments encourge memories. That is the case with this little shindig in Acapulco. It has been amazing to watch this deal grow from a 40-odd Ulti playes in 2000 to a tournament that draws players from all over the world in just a few years. Fernando is a tireless advocate of Ulti in Mexico, he is an ultra competitive person on the field and he throws down a sick tournament. Some of last year's highlights include: -A trip to an Acapulco waterpark included in your tournament fee -Watching sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach the last night of the tournament. -A schedule that actually read: "400AM--Co-ed, naked, full contact pool ultimate." -Winning the whole thing with my grass team and totally sucking it up with my beach team. -Putting together a Potlatch reunion team that drew alums from all over the US and Canada. This tournament is definitely worth the travel and money involved. Check out the website and come on down! See ya' in Acapulco.
