rule question

so this happened this thursday on a play where the disc was high over the
endzone and everybody trying to get a good position to catch or D:
as the disc comes down, one guy from the offense stepped on his teammates
hand who lifted/pushed him into the air and with that power and his own
jumping power, the guy got the disc over everybody else. he was at least a
foot clear of everyone heads. it was a spectacular play to watch from the
sideline but after the play there was an argument if it was a legal play o
not. the final call was score as nobody had any idea about the rules. so
what is the right call?
