> 1) Would ultimate work as a mainstream (NCAA/Pro, on TV, pay to > attend) sport in America? Absolutely!!! > > If Yes: 2) Would the players/rules(especially > observers/refs)/anything be different than it is today. If you look at other major sports over time you can see how they have changed and continue to change. For example, the owners of baseball wanted to make it more exciting: Then, Sammy S and McGuire hit all those homeruns and made it more interesting. This just didn't happen because they are good(which they are), but minor changes were implemented in the way the strike zone was called. Owners of sports change stuff all the time to increase market share. How many examples of this can you think of? There are obvious examples of this in most popular sports organizations. > 3) What kind of influence would major sports fans bring? Do your own homework. Darn lazy students lol :) Baseball is "this"..ultimate as it stands is "that." Some of the influences($$$) would be quite good....some not so good. > > > 4) If it did happen and ultimate became a major sport in America, > would you still take as large a part in it as you do now? Nope, not unless it included a six figure salary. Let's face it, Ultimate is very maketable. There are so many opportunities available for new sources of revenue. I like what the UPA has done over the past few years, but there is still a lot yet to be learned. Luckly, there are some UPA officials interested in learning....and unfortunately, there are still some that have closed minds. And the biggest factor.....the time it takes to research and make smart decisions.
