Okay.  And every other sport is equally stupid.  Athletically, curling is on
the same level as bowling, golf, archery and similar.  What does make
curling different is the team work.  There are some bursts of athletic
output in curling (just ask your lead and second how they feel if everyone
is tossing it light).  Unlike bowling and golf you are in direct competition
with another team and strategy is a major factor (even at club levels where
the broom stacking may be the best part of the match).  In RSG & USG, others
have posted similar thoughts regarding golf as a sport; IMH curling, golf
and bowling are indeed sports as they require technical skill, strategy and
mental discipline.  They may not be athletic in the traditional sense of
sweat and pain.
Just my two cents.
In the future, you may wish to use a pink lady and 2 oz of lead when
trolling.
