NOVEMBER 15, 2003 - Chris Daw's rink from London, Ontario, retained their Team Canada title today beating Kelowna BC's Gerry Austgarden in the final of the 2003 Wheelchair Curling Championships at the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club. Daw avenged his only round-robin defeat by reversing that 8 - 0 score to win the gold and the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2nd Wheelchair Curling World Championships to be held in Sursee. Switzerland, January 19 - 24, 2004. Congratulations Chris Daw, Bruce McAninch, Jim Primavera and Karen Blachford - Team Canada, and congratulations to Gerry Austgarden, Whitney Warren, Frank LaBounty and Sonja Gaudet who fought back to reach the final despite losing their first three round robin matches. Full results can be found on my unofficial webpage at http://wheelchaircurling.com If you would like to know more about wheelchair curling, which will be a Paralympics sport at the winter games in Turin in 2006, or would like to explore adding wheelchair curling to your local club, you can contact CurlBC and CurlOntario. There is a Yahoo group called Wheelchaircurling, as well as established programmes in several Canadian communities. I'll be happy to share whatever information I have. Eric Eales [EMAIL PROTECTED]
