We had a similar situation a few weeks ago in the cashspiel in Medicine Hat, the exception that the rock in the 4-ft was at the back of the four, and a bit more exposed, about a third. A pretty easy pick. I was throwing second, and the sweepers almost laid down on the ice when my skip called the tap-back. We were up by two with hammer at the time. We did the things I hate -- talked about it for about two minutes until I think my skip decided I wasn't going to throw the shot any other way, so went down and called the rip with peel weight. I happily went back to the hack and threw the SOB about a foot inside and ended up picking the shot rock in the 4-ft anyway! Guess where they put their next one (see your original post!) Our third made a great peel to get me/us out of trouble, but it should never have happened. We had them held to one point, and had to make a great shot to prevent them from tying the game.
