Precisely my thought. The reason I'm asking is that
I had this exact scenario last week. I asked my third to run the guard and he
objected. He wanted to play the tap back on yellow in rings. I told him he was
dreaming, and to run (at least peel) the guard. They collectively then argued
that I was wrong. I responded with "any self respecting skip would run that
guard". They suggested I was wrong in assuming most would agree with me ... so
I'm doing a survey.
The more opinions, the merrier

Not neccessarily. The outurn run back may well result in the
yellow double AND a corner on your red in the rings. Wishful thinking, perhaps
- but the ultimate shot. Regardless, THE YELLOW CENTER HAS GOT TO GO AT THIS
STAGE OF THE END. I'm not seeing ANY argument here to suggest
otherwise.

likewise ....... I'm doing my best to stir this up and see what
other folks think about it.
Oh, and wrt to something asked earlier by someone else in the
thread ............... I'm citing a scenario from a scheduled 10 end
game.
"IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO CURL" ?? ;>)

Actually, in league games, I have no problem with 8
ends. There are some teams out there who are so damned slow that 10 is
almost insufferable. Eight is enough in most "regular" leagues, in most
instances.
