Which for the tour to NZ would have been only half a year and not one
and a half year ago, correct?

Because he did not click in the Irani Cup, and they wanted to see
different options for Australia, perhaps.

(getting the highest score in an innings is not necessarily clicking)

Would happen with any captain, though. I agree that Das has fallen
off, I do not however buy the rationale that the case on stats is
crystal clear.

If it were, Gambhir would be the first one based on recent knocks, and
Sriram the second (yes, I know he bats #3).

It is a good performance at that level. And a good one for Kathik,
but hardly an spectacular one. Two others got 3-fer, and Bhandari
ended with some 8-fer something.

Does Bhandari now have a legitimate claim as a pacer? He had a 8-fer,
and has performed in the domestics as well, even before the team was
picked to Australia.
