On 2 Dec 2003 09:37:56 -0800, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Vijay Kumar K) tapped the keyboard and brought forth: >I searched out the rules post, read it and was totally lost. I'm sorry about that. All the complexity is about working out who you get if your original selections end up opposite each other. >The one thing I understood was that one should not pick two who would both be >likely to bat at the same position in the batting order, Lara and Kallis >in my original pick, for example. > > >If my selections were > >Gibbs Kallis Smith >Chanders Jacobs > >WI: Gayle-Hinds-Ganga-Lara-Sarwan-Chanders-Jacobs-Banks-Dillon-Drakes-Edwards >RSA: Smith-Gibbs-Kirsten-Kallis-McKenzie-Rudolph-Boucher-Polly-Hall-Adams-Ntini > >Chanders, Jacobs score 53, 71 and 31. Jacobs takes 3 chatches >Gibbs, Smith, Kallis score 113, 28, 46. Gibbs takes 3 catches. Kallis 12-3-31-2 > >What will my "team" have scored at the end of the 1st innings? You will get Gibbs, Chanders and Kallis. But you haven't given me half enough information for me to be able to tell you what your team has scored in the example. I need to know what Hinds, Lara and Rudolph did as well as what your guys did. Gibbs gets 143, less whatever Hinds gets. Not only the runs he scores, but the net effect of his bowling too. Chanders gets 53 less whatever Rudolph gets. Kallis has 46 (his own runs) -31 (those he conceded) +4 (2 maidens) +100 (2 wickets) (+10/20 if 1/2 wickets were bowled/lbw) = 119(+10/20) so far. Then deduct what Lara notches up and then you have Kallis's score. Cheers, Mike
