I Believe that he will have atleast one of the 4 (or 3 1/2 depending on your
opinion) Major Titles by the end of next year. It all boils down to the
business of Boxing. The sanctioning bodies are businesses first and foremost
and will do whatever they can to fatten their pockets. Having Mesi hold one
of their belts will do just that.

Mesi has not proven himself to be anything more than yet another great white
Hype yet, But he does has a Huge Loyal Fan Base.

Right now Mesi is the biggest thing coming down the pipe for heavyweight
boxing when it comes to what really counts, Selling pay per views and
filling up the arenas.

Look at the Current Belt Holder and the Current Champion (Notice that they
are not one and the same).
Lewis (The Champion and WBC Belt holder) who is almost retired in place with
one more fight at most and then the WBC will be up for grabs.
Then you have RJJ who holds the WBA. He has said that the only fight he will
take is Tyson and then he retires. so the WBA belt will also be up for
grabs.
Chris Byrd (IBF Belt Holder) who no one likes to watch and even fewer
fighters are willing to face him because of the Risk/Reward factor. Sooner
or later the IBF will have to find a way to give their belt to someone who
will make money for them.
And the WBO (If you happen to consider it a Legitimate Title) is and has
been vacant for a while.

The Heavyweight Title typically generates the most income for the
sanctioning bodies. They cannot afford not to have someone out there
fighting for their titles so that they can collect their sanctioning fees.
Look at the Current heavyweight division.. Who other than Mesi has the
potential to generate huge purses for title fights?
