Schuler Cue offers several standard carom tapers, and their shafts are supposed to be interchangeable, so you won't have to send your stick back for a new shaft. But any custom cue maker who cannot describe his possible/recommended tapers for carom shafts should be avoided, since he doesn't know what he's doing. > The place I play 3C at cleans the tables and balls alot. It is fairly standard to wipe down tables like this. Sometimes strips of table cloth is used. I'm not convinced that it makes things cleaner, and with the current napless cloth, it won't have any "brushing" benefit. It will smear out any chalk marks and make them less obvious. > They vacuum the tables at least 2 times per day and wipe them > with that thing alot. Will it wear the cloth faster? It is normal for serious carom rooms. Contrast this with a celebrated action room in Las Vegas where the pool tables seem never to have seen a vacuum cleaner, a table broom, a brush, a wiping- down device. The cloth goes on, and when it gets too torn and dirty to use, it's ripped off and another goes on. Or at least that's how it looked to me. A pig sty. There are good reasons to keep equipment clean for serious play, including reducing the wear and tear on the balls, but some proprietors haven't caught on yet. -- Bob Jewett http://www.sfbilliards.com/
