I found it helped my shot consistency significantly. Is there a reason not to use this method? What is it that makes you not recomend it? By the way, I actually think instructor is pretty great. I probably just misunderstood what he was saying, and then he didnt really understand my objection. In fact, he videotaped my stroke, and found some "interstesting" behaviour (like turning my wrist around for some shots when applying effect) which I have since corrected. I would have never seen them on my own. We are also working on speed control and building a consistent stroke speed. He's the real deal I think. He also has a BCA certification and enjoys teaching.
