>There is absolutely no problem going from the NBA to the wnba. The problem >has been going the other way - I get the impression that many consider a WNBA >the kiss of death when it comes to getting back to the NBA. Ron Rothstein is >the only person I can think of who did that. Frank Layden is back in the NBA as a consultant for the Knicks (although I don't know how much that counts, since his son is the GM there). TR Dunn, as bad as he was as coach of the Sting, is currently an assistant with the Nuggets. And Dee Brown went back to working in the Orlando Magic's front office after the Miracle relocated to Connecticut, until he took the Silver Stars' head coaching job two weeks ago. To be honest, I don't see any 'blacklist' on ex-WNBA head coaches at all. Went back to the NBA: T.R. Dunn Ron Rothstein Frank Layden Dee Brown (went back, then voluntarily left again) Did not go back to the NBA: Orlando Woolridge (hasn't been heard from since his marijuana arrest two years ago) Darrell Walker (most recently seen in September, using a pair of clubs to attack a golfer who dared to ask to play through on him) Sonny Allen (old geezer who only scouted in the NBA, never coached, and is voluntarily retired now, but he's not NBA coaching material anyway--can you picture A.I. doing 'the weave'?) Were never in the NBA to begin with (have strictly been women's coaches): Brian Agler Fred Williams Greg Williams Tom Maher every woman who has ever coached in the league So really, that's only six former coaches who ever *were* part of the NBA and were young enough to come back to it after their WNBA stint, and four of the six actually *have* come back in some capacity.
