I think past loyalty to USA teams is also a consideration in selecting a team. I agree, though, that the USA team needs to keep pace with the up and coming talent so that our efforts do not see a complete turnover in one olympic cycle...there's always been a few young-guns on each olympic team (even back when it was mostly overseas players, there was at least 1 collegian a la Lobo).
