This past year was noteworthy for the number of teams with high profile players that DIDN'T make the playoffs. The Indiana Fever with Tamika Catchings is one. The D.C. Mystics with Chamique Holdsclaw is another. The most graphic example is the Seattle Storm that had TWO first team All-WNBA players, one being the WNBA regular season Player of the Year, but didn't make the playoffs. Of the teams that DID make the playoffs, the Sacramento Monarchs, the Connecticut Sun, the Charlotte Sting, and the no-name now-in-limbo Cleveland Rockers didn't have a single player make the first or second team All-WNBA. Chamique Holdsclaw (the #2 scorer and #1 rebounder) wasn't All-WNBA. The argument was that her team did badly so she shouldn't have been. Doesn't make sense when other players were All-WNBA when their teams didn't do much better.
