Jackson puts on a clinic

AFTER Lauren Jackson lay waste to his Perth Lynx, coach Murray Treseder
asked his Canberra Capitals counterpart Carrie Graf whether she would do him
a favour.

"Can you keep that beast in a cage next time we play?" Murray asked.
Not even a cage might be enough to hold Jackson, who posted 48 points and 18
rebounds on Saturday, the third-highest single-game score in WNBL history.

Jackson gathered her points on 18-26 shooting from the field while going
11-15 on free-throws. She added 18 rebounds, four blocked shots and six
steals in her 30min 8sec of excellence.

After her WNBA MVP season, Jackson could have been expected to ease into her
work with the Caps, who are defending their WNBL championship. It didn't
happen that way.

"She just looked like a woman among girls. I didn't realise she had 40. I
just thought she was going OK," Graf said.
