Popularity is an entirely different issue, IMHO. A sport can be very popular with some people and intensely disliked by many others. The NBA would be a very graphic example of this if this survey is accurate. How "dogfighting" and Bullfighting made the list is beyond me. It's not like dogfights or Bullfights are regularly shown on ABC or NBC. Pro wrestling isn't a sport, it's a show and everybody knows it. That puts Boxing and Golf at the top of the list. Both sports obviously have a lot of fans, but both sports appear to have a lot of people that dislike them, too. Undoubtedly different people for different reasons. Boxing is too corrupt and violent. Hard to believe it was once one of the most popular spectator sports in the United States if not the most popular spectator sport. Golf? How can people watch Golf on TV and stay awake? It's boring. I really don't know much about NASCAR. Can't comment on it. I find it hard to believe that enough people are familiar at all with Major League Soccer to put it on a top ten "dislike" list. It's probably just taken as a generic for soccer in general. Probably the same people that hate Golf. Undoubtedly for the same reason. As for Men's Tennis, I think the writer of the article missed the reason it's so disliked. IMHO: John McEnroe, the face and poster boy for the sport. People dislike his sport because they dislike him personally.
