I think the bigger issue for the Sparks was the salary cap, not lack of youth. They had very little on the bench, and to keep their big names (including Byers, Gillom, Mapp, etc.) they didn't have money to spend on the WNBA role players that Sacramento and Detroit had on hand. I agree that they had nothing left in the tank...but why didn't Coop give the bench more time, eventhough they were not as talented as the top 5? They might have gelled better to serve the end of the season. I think this draft is deep enough to get some real talented rookies, but then again if they pull a Washington and draft a "Mowe" then Toler will be exposed. Maybe they need someone who can simply concentrate on the college talent, as her experience as a player has served her well for veteran moves, but that will soon be gone as an advantage as her peers retire. > <<Since Windham got fired, the Sparks have had a succession of bad > draft picks and disasterous trades.
