Dallas has only been a playoff contender for the past 3 seasons after being the worst team in any league for the decade of the 90s and Dallas hasn't lost in the 1st round or been swept in any of those series. Only once (the disaster of 1987) in team history did Dallas not go as far or further in the playoffs than their talent and ranking. Dallas didn't get much props (they did get some) for their start last season as they had reached the point where it is what you do in the playoffs that count. The Lakers have long been at that level and don't get any props (and unless something has changed, don't want any) for their regular season achievements. The 2nd longest winning streak (14-0) to start a season deserves a little bit of recognition, but a 14-3 record doesn't get more than a notice that they are leading the conference right now. patricia -- Patricia Bender [EMAIL PROTECTED] For NBA stuff: http://www.dfw.net/~patricia/index.html For Mavs stuff: http://www.dfw.net/~patricia/mavs.html
