http://www.suntimes.com/output/bulls/cst-spt-roman02.html Shaquille O'Neal remembers the day he was challenged to a fight by Scott Skiles while the two were teammates with the Orlando Magic, but O'Neal's version is much different than the one Skiles offered recently. It was Dec. 4, 1992, and the Magic was practicing in Los Angeles after losing to the Clippers the previous night. Tempers were flaring during practice, and according to legend, Skiles didn't like the way O'Neal -- a rookie at the time -- was loafing. So Skiles went after the man who was a foot taller and over 100 pounds heavier. Skiles said O'Neal swung first and missed, but O'Neal remembers it differently. "He was just acting tougher than he really is,'' O'Neal said. "And he tried me, and I [messed] him up. We had lost to the Clippers, and the next day in L.A. everybody was trying to be [tough]. I beat his butt. I beat his butt. You know because he's little, he charged me, and I hit him with a [O'Neal demonstrates a one-two combo].'' O'Neal said Skiles showed him something that day. "It showed me that he was crazy,'' O'Neal said. And as far as whether the Bulls made a good hire by making Skiles their head coach? "Yeah, he'll be all right,'' O'Neal said.
