new shoe trends

I just ran through the pages of the latest SLAM Kicks issue and I am
wondering what other BBallers think of the new Vince Carter Kicks
(Nike Shox VC III)? I like the fact that Nike tries to incorporate the
latest technology into their BB shoes (especially since most of the
"new" shoes now are retros). But what I am really worried about is, if
the ankle has enough stability with the new system. In the beginning
the "shox" was only in the back part of the sole but now the whole
sole? I had several injuries to my ankles playing ball and beeing
afraid to twist my ankle again I always stick to the old, "unfancy"
models. Most of the new shoes are low-cuts and I do not feel
comfortable wearing them. Has anybody made bad experiences with the
latest kicks technology?
