*Any* meaning?  That's idiotic.  How many unranked teams
have won a national championship?  In the picking contest on
this very group last year, the AP ranking was a good predictor.

Btw polls also have value, or information.  On the flip side,
the earlier in the season it is, the less value the poll has.
