...is what Duke shot from three. It's not like 22-49 from two is all that good either. Despite outrebounding Purdue by 7 (and 9 offensive) rebounds, despite 6 more blocks, 2 less turnovers, 1 more steal, and 3 less fouls, Duke somehow manages to lose by 10. In all four games, Duke has played one half even vaguely resembling quality offense. They tried to confuse the better competition in Purdue by switching which half they played good ball in, but it didn't work. In other news, Duke used pretty much a six man rotation, with seven minutes between Dockery and Horvath. I wonder what Melchionni did wrong -- he was averaging 8.7 minutes, but did not play against Purdue. He couldn't miss any worse than everyone else...? With Deng not being a bona fide go to guy yet (we're Jonesing here), and everyone else being inconsistent, except maybe Sheldon (and those that consistently suck), it ain't gonna be pretty at MSU's friendly confines. On the betting front, some early results have me changing my all-home- wins prediction for the ACC/B10 Smackdown. GT is now picked, as is Wisconsin. Actually, Wisconsin has nothing to do with results. I just noticed they start juniors and seniors instead of sophomores. Experience counts, MD gets a smackdown. --Tedward
