Can anyone confirm whether the following are true:
1) A charging foul from the team on offence does not count against their Team Foul total.
2) An Illegal screen should does count against a team's Team Foul total.
I don't believe either are true. Both count against the team totals. They do *not*, however, result in shooting fouls no matter what the totals are. They are considered "player control fouls", which I suppose is the category that results in no shots.
Just to be picky, the second scenario would be a "team control foul". Unless the guy setting the screen had the ball...
Until you get into the bonus . . . .
That's what I mean, they are *not* shooting fouls, even in the bonus. They are a turnover with the ball out of bounds. The player who committed
the foul is awarded one toward his total of five and the team is awarded
another team foul. Doesn't matter if there are none, 7, 10, or 20 team
fouls on that team already. No shots.
Particularly in a great (but hard as hell to read sideways pdf on a screen) chart in Appendix IV - Foul/Penalty Chart
