That is, if you wish to extend a $10 player for 2 years, his new salary is $20/year and you pay half the total value of contract into the pool - which is another $20 ((20+20)/2). One wrinkle in my league - we dicided that we want more player turnover. It sucks for 90% of the league when someone has an underpriced start for 5-6 years. So, there's no option year and you can extend for only 1 or 2 years. No more 3 years deals and keep the guy another year at an option... > Thanks
