There is none.  You long term a guy, you HAVE to keep him unless he gets traded
to the NL prior to the beginning of the next season.

After the 2nd (B) year we have to decide if we want to long term a guy or not. 
We can keep him for the C year at the same price as B then we HAVE to throw him
back.  We add an extra $5 per long term year as your equation states.  I have
Roy Halladay at $19 in year B.  I plan to long term him for 1 additional year
(until year D) so I'll have to pay him $24 for years C and D.
