Hi Jorrit, In years past I used to camp in a VW Westfalia camper to ski at Whistler. Most Winter campers used motorhomes. If you have never Towed a 5th Wheel or even a Travel Trailer through the mountains in Winter, I would recommend against it. A motorhome with will give you fewer problems with sway in the wind and snow. I also recommend that you book campgrouds in well advance and make sure that they have good washroom facilities with showers. Good luck.
