EPCOT completely kicked our butts the day we went. We stayed there from
opening until 9:00 (it was the only park that was open past 6:00pm) and it
felt like all we did was walk all day long. I didn't remember it being so
bad on my previous visits, but prior to the visit in 2001, my most recent
visit was 1989 which would have been when I was 18. So, I was younger,
didn't have a family to drag around, and wasn't interested in the World
Showcase. This time we saw the WHOLE park, but didn't even come close to
experiencing all of the attractions because of the insane lines. I like
EPCOT alot, but I can't think of another park that requires so much walking
to see it all. The last day we were at WDW I got the grandparents to watch
the kids while the wife and I went over to EPCOT for dinner. It seemed like
a 10 mile hike from the monorail to the restaurant in the Mexico section of
the World Showcase!

Fortunately for me, though, my kids are thrill ride AND education junkies,
so they really enjoyed EPCOT. I actually had to drag them out of the Living
Seas after 75 minutes because I just couldn't stand to be in there any
longer. And I'm glad that Journey Into Imagination was closed as I would
have been tempted to go in and my memories of that outstanding attraction
would have been forever tarnished.
