I get updates all day & night long. We're posting our stuff in the right place -- you might consider an alternative to getting your newsgroup stuff off of the Web-based Google, which, from what you say, is ponderous. Look in your locality for an ISP with its own newsgroup computer(s). Bob k5qwg
