OK. Mr.Flashman is "alleged" to have done something not so smart, possibly illegal. In this US of A, he is supposed to be "innocent, until proven guilty". Oh!..Wait!...He wasn't charged with any wrong doing! My take on this (fwiw), > A deputy responding to calls of gunshots fired after midnight stumbled > upon the cache after knocking on the home of Donald Flashman in > southeast Orange County. "Cache" Term used to imply large amounts of CONTRABAND by authorities. > The deputy reported hearing what sounded like a shotgun being fired and > then saw smoke coming from Flashman's mobile home Don, accurate measurements and proper mixing will reduce the smoke buddy. > Flashman, 37, cooperated with investigators and was not charged, > Solomons said. Care to elaborate Mr.Spokesman? Such as to why this is even newsworthy? Being nice guys or was it a "search and seizure" issue? (address snipped to protect the not-charged) > "To say what his master plan was, we don't know," the spokesman said. > "He was certainly making a large amount of fireworks." "Master plan"? Wanted some noise makers and got a little over zealous maybe? > Deputies called the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and > that agency has joined the investigation. We feel better now. > "We're both working this case," said Mike Hegerfeld, head of the ATF > office in Orlando. Hegerfeld said federal rules prohibited him from > discussing the evidence seized. Natch! > Mary Roberts, who has lived in the neighborhood for 28 years, said she > heard loud noises coming from her neighbor's home after midnight but > didn't know what to make of them. On Thursday, Roberts was surprised to > hear that her neighbor was storing fireworks. > "It sounded like it was under my feet. It scared me to death," Roberts > said of the noise. "It was much harder than a gunshot. I don't know what > he'd be wanting those things for. That's dangerous." Came out of the house to see what the hubub was about, found a reporter and got printed in the newspaper. > Solomons said investigators described the fireworks pieces as "tubular," > 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. Geeze,Don! In a mobile home!? Can you spell "Darwin"? > In addition to the finished work, deputies found 1,000 to 2,000 pieces > in various stages of being assembled and unknown mixtures of chemicals > used to stuff them, Solomons said. "1000 to 2000 pieces" Bags of paper tubes and plugs maybe? If so, I'm screwed. "stuff them" Add in the "cache" term and "1000 to 2000 pieces" stated previously, the general reader envisions "drums of chems". > Five rifles and a handgun also were taken from the home. So what? Why? > The Sheriff's Office explosive- and ordnance-disposal unit hauled the > confiscated items to the agency's gun range. Most of the items were > destroyed, Solomons said. I'm having a vision here. "Cooool!" "Light another one Ernie!" > Flashman could not be reached for comment Thursday. I'm surprised. >Orange County records show he has been issued licenses to operate construction-cleanup > and metal-framing businesses. This means what? Ok,I'm done. Flame away! Marty
