Re: Blue Magnesium Stars

On the latest edition of Passfire there is a pic of a shell burst with what's listed as blue magnesium stars. I love the way they look, but I've searched extensively and cannot find any type of formula for them. Any ideas?

Have you tried the Veline blue MgAl stars?

55 KClO4
15 CuO
15 Parlon
9 Red gum
6 MgAl (-200 mesh, granular)
4 Dextrin

There is a chlorate Mg blue listed in Kentish, but it uses HgCl and Sulfur! There is one in Degn which is pretty scary:

16 KClO4
8 Paris Green
4 Mg (unspecified form)
2 Shellac
2 Stearine
1 PVC
