The story was about Bush's recent visit to England. During teatime with the Queen, he remarked that he quite liked the idea of a kingdom, and perhaps when he got home he'd set about turning America into one. The Queen replied "No, I'm afraid you'd need a king for that." George scratches his head and says "Well maybe I'd like an empire instead!" to which the Queen shakes her head patiently and explains "you'd need an emperor for that." "Oh well" says George, "maybe the US should just be a country." "Mmm" says the Queen.
