A pick-up truck has a cab in the front and a not-too-big flatbed in the back (they're not much longer than cars), with walls a cubit or so high on the sides and a back that hinges down to provide access. An SUV is a giant station wagon (I think that's your "estate wagon"), with three or even four rows of seats, a built-in DVD player to keep the kids distracted, with mileage of about 3 mpg yet exempt from any fuel economy standards yet considered a passenger vehicle for the purpose of driving on parkways and such. -- Peter T.
