Re: USA air travel photo carry-on rules changed

Has anyone tried carrying on a tripod?  I usually just check mine in my
suitcase, but on an upcoming trip plan to carry on my luggage.  If I
bring the tripod, it will be packed inside my suitcase (carry-on size).
I'm concerned that the screeners will see it as a weapon (club) and
confiscate it.  If you've had luck carrying on a tripod, please give let
me know which airports you flew through.  I'll be going from JFK to HNL,
passing through LAX.  I've got a Bogen 3001 tripod, and I usually store
the head my shoulder bag.
