Minolta flash trigger voltage?

I have a minolta XE-1. I would like to use a Vivitar 2800 flash with
this but have been told that the high trigger voltages in the Vivitar
may dammage the XE

Has anyone used this combo. It does work but ny concern is long term
gradual dammage to the XE trigger contacts or the camera electronics.

Does anyone know (or know how to find out) the troigger contact
voltage rating in the Minolta XE.
