I picked up one at a yard sale, complete with lens, for $5.00 and another
was given to me by a friend who was sick and tired of seeing it unused in the
basement for over twenty years.  

The best source I have found for inexpensive enlargers is moving sales. 
Enlargers are just the sort of thing that people would rather get rid of
rather than pay for moving.
