Subject: I'll give it some time From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Collin Brendemuehl) Date: 11/25/2003 8:37 AM Mountain Standard Time Message-id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 8x10 is a bigger change from 4x5 than I thought. Handling the equipment isn't a problem because it's fairly light. (Kodak 2D) Lens is also modest in size (Nikkor-M 300/9). What is a pain is getting a neg that looks really good only to make a contact print that looks terrible! This is going to take some experimentation to see if I want to continue and develop a "practice" in this field. Maybe I should quit the TMax?? Is Acros in 8x10? Midwest has some Bergger & Forte I might try in HC-110 or D76. Your thoughts? Has anyone a blog on this type of issue? Collin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Why does a contact print look horrible? IMHO they can be much more beautiful than an enlargement. Going through the second lens does take a little away from the image. I would drop T-Max and go to something like Tri-X, HP5+, or maybe the Bergger 200 film. Tray processing is fine.
