handeling baby beardies

I have a bearded dragon, probably 3 /12 months old, and he is a freak. He
hates to be picked up or touched. My daughters want to hold him but I'm
afraid he will get away. I have owned him for 5 weeks now and I only handle
him inside the tank. What I would like to know is when will he calm down? I
know he is still young and I'm hoping he will get better with age. Has
anyone had similar problems? I want to be able to have him out of the tank
and not have him freak out. If you can help, please write
