I realize it may be old news to some, but I just heard about
it today:

Kaopectate changed their formula in December of last year and 
it is no longer safe for cats and some dogs.  Here's more

And to make this on topic:  I wouldn't recommend Kaopectate
for lizards, snakes or frogs with diarrhea either.
