It is hard to say without seeing the size of the ferret and the crack
under the door. I know of at least one tiny adult female ferret I
wouldn't trust with a 1" gap under a door. Particularly if the floor
were carpeted (ie could be compressed a bit and would provide
something to grip onto as the ferret tried to squirm under the door).

If she can get her head under the door, assume she can get the
rest of her body under it. A motivated ferret, for example one
motivated by fear or boredom, will exploit openings and do things
they didn't seem capable of before. For months my ferret seemed
unable to squeeze into this one spot. He tried, but always gave up.
Then one day I startled him and he flew through the hole so fast
that I only saw a blur. Similarly, my ferret never seemed to notice
a small rip in the cover of my bed's box spring. Then one day he
noticed it, enlarged it, and went in there to explore and eventually
sleep. Thank goodness for squeaky toys.

If there is any doubt, cover or reduce the size of the opening. Oh,
and keep the ferret caged when you aren't there.
