Some cat litters do strike me as the type of thing one would want
to keep their ferrets away from. I suspect that a small exposure
would do little more than make the ferret sneeze a bit. But to play
it safe, one could...

- Keep an eye on the ferret's eyes, nose, mouth, and throat. An
obvious blockage, large quantity of embedded material, runny eyes
or nose, inflamed throat, etc would be the types of things I'd look
for. If those areas are bothering the animal, it might paw at them,
rub it's nose/mouth on the carpet, and/or grind its teeth more than
    it normally does.
- Be on the looking for breathing or swallowing problems. For example,
labored breathing, wheezing, or clicking sounds... excessive coughing,
    sneezing, gacking, or the like.
- As always, be on the lookout for significant changes in the ferret's
eating, drinking, pooping, peeing, and playing habits.
