So far Mango is...well MANGO. He is showing no ill-affects at all and the septic tank 'adventure' will never happen again (not on MY watch anyway). BLady. I guess you know that Scrappy died on October 20. I think I posted something here about that. Well, last week I took in a foster, rescue Chihuahua (14 week old Kila). She was scheduled for euthanazia on that Friday and the owner chose not to do that. Instead she surrendered the little girl to a rescue who contacted me. The pup is anorexic (needs to be handfed food and water). She also has mysterious problems that cause her to be unable to stand except when she is feeling very good. I posted more details on alt.med.veterinary I will have the pup for three weeks and then I leave for a month long vacation to Virginia. A special angel who runs this rescue will take over for me while I'm gone. The rescue is also going to have more tests run on Kila (including neuro checkup). The dogs problems started at age 10 weeks when the owner discovered the pup covered with Texas Fire Ants. She sprayed the dog with bugspray. The dog licked it's leg and within seconds started "heaving". She waited two weeks before taking it to the vet because by then the dog was not eating and not walking. Anyway, I wanted you to know this is my latest adventure (=: The outlook for this little dog is probably not good but I figured she at least deserves a shot at recovery. At age 15 weeks she is clearly a little fighter and maybe the neurologist and further testing will at least get us a diagnosis.
