The ears are in what i call the "I'm such a nice friendly cute doggy" - position. It's like a "milder" version of what they look like when they are showing they are submissive. The ears are not close to the head or neck. They often have the ears in that backwards but outspread position also when they come and say hello to me. During playing the ears go quickly from something like that and totally erect too. Rosa
