I am not saying the owner doesn't hold responsibility. Obviously the person shouldn't have cats...but...to take out your anger with the owner by dropping off the cat at a shelter where it is likely to be euthanized is heartless. As a society..we should place importance on life in general. We are the dominate species.. it's like being the big brother or big sister. It is our moral obligation to look out for those who can not look out for themselves. If I had a neighbor that had an animal they weren't taking care of..I would first talk to them. When that failed (if it failed) I might also quietly trap the animal but I would take it to a no kill rescue group and have it rehomed. Kind of like helping an abused spouse out of a relationship via the underground railroad <G>. My comments and concern are not that the owner was wronged. It was that a good percentage of the group felt the man did what he needed to do to protect his garden. A living thing is now dead for no other reason than some person was irresponsible and another was heartless. There are no winners here...it's just plain sad. I'm done...I need to get out and remind myself that this is a tiny segment of society and that not everyone is as cold hearted and callous as what I have read in here. AG
