Re: Question about dog hair clippers

IF there is a difference, the clippers used for animals may be a bit
more heavy duty... I don't know what blade size you would use for a
Cairn, but blade size (number) is very important to the process. For a
Border Terrier, if clipping (uncommonly done), we use a #7 and a #10.

I think that for a Cairn, you mainly clip neck, back and sides... and
tail? So you probably only need one size.

If you only clip one dog a couple of times a year, you might be able to
get away with a human hair clipper.

Any groomer can explain the difference... in a phone call, and MAY be
able to recommend the blade size. Call an established grooming shop,
not the local retail pet super-store.
