I do believe it causes reaction strikes, but not because of those specific colors. I believe it is because it so closely imitates many natural foods. First I think that the fish can see it really well. I think that the best color for reaction strikes is red. But in a study done long ago , I believe by Doug Hannon, yellow caused bass to shy away from it, but we all know that some prey of the bass have the same make up in color scheme as the fire tiger. I don't think a bass is going to shy away from a bait that is 12+ inches shorter and moving like it is wounded. So this is just my opinion, but I think the reason that the fire tiger pattern is so effective is because it is very visible in almost every water condition. Again this is just a thought.
