Actually, I do have a similar retreat at my disposal. The deer camp to 
which I have belonged for most of my life is well off the beaten path 
and has no electricity or running water (except for rainwater from a 
collection tank). We do have propane for cooking, but our heat is 
supplied by two wood-burning heaters. I haven't killed a deer in several 
years, now (don't seem to be too mad at them, anymore ;), but I still 
enjoy going out there and burning up my share of the camp's firewood. :)
